{"id":116,"date":"2010-10-04T23:56:25","date_gmt":"2010-10-04T23:56:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ilovenatto.com\/blog\/?p=116"},"modified":"2014-11-24T19:15:12","modified_gmt":"2014-11-24T19:15:12","slug":"natto-hambagu-hamberg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ilovenatto.com\/blog\/2010\/10\/natto-hambagu-hamberg\/","title":{"rendered":"Natto Hambagu (Hamberg)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A basic hambagu recipe with the addition of natto in the center.\u00a0 It&#8217;s so good!!\u00a0 It can be eaten by itself or with rice or with <a href=\"http:\/\/ilovenatto.com\/blog\/2010\/09\/natto-curry\/\" target=\"_self\">curry<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prep Time<\/strong>: 25 mins<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_117\" style=\"width: 450px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ilovenatto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/natto_hamburg.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-117\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-117\" title=\"natto_hamburg\" alt=\"Natto Hamburg\" src=\"http:\/\/ilovenatto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/natto_hamburg.jpg\" width=\"440\" height=\"330\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ilovenatto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/natto_hamburg.jpg 440w, https:\/\/ilovenatto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/natto_hamburg-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-117\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Japanese Hamburg stuffed with natto<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Serving Size<\/strong>: 4<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Natto<\/li>\n<li>1 lb Ground beef<\/li>\n<li>1 Egg<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 Cup milk<\/li>\n<li>1 Cup panko (bread crumbs)<\/li>\n<li>Pepper<\/li>\n<li>Salt<\/li>\n<li>1 tbs Vegetable oil<\/li>\n<li>Bull Dog sauce (or ketchup and Worcestershire sauce)<\/li>\n<li>Mustard<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Thinly chop onions into small squares.\u00a0 Heat up the oil in a pan and saute the onions until they turn a caramel brown color.<\/li>\n<li>Mix the egg and panko in a bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Add the beef, onions, milk, a dash of pepper and salt, and mix thoroughly with your hands.<\/li>\n<li>When you form the hamburg patties, make sure you don&#8217;t make them too large or they will fall apart when you try to flip them.\u00a0 Note that adding natto in the center will make them even more brittle.<\/li>\n<li>Place a thin layer of the meat mixture onto a plate, then a layer of natto, and another layer of meat on top.<\/li>\n<li>Heat oil and saute patty for about 2 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Flip the patty, add a 1\/4 cup of water to the pan and steam patty for about 3-4 more minutes.\u00a0 Then remove the lid and cook until the water evaporates.<\/li>\n<li>Top the patty with Bulldog sauce or make your own sauce by mixing 1 part ketchup and 1 part Worcestershire sauce.<\/li>\n<li>Mustard goes exceptionally well with this meal, (I prefer spicy mustard).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>I&#8217;ve had friends who dislike natto try it and they really enjoyed it.\u00a0 Give it a try and let me know what you think!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A basic hambagu recipe with the addition of natto in the center.\u00a0 It&#8217;s so good!!\u00a0 It can be eaten by itself or with rice or with curry.
