One of my favorite ways to eat natto (I made this up one day):
2 packages of natto
2 crushed cloves of garlic (or more to taste)
4 tablespoons hot chile oil — homemade with chile flakes spooned into natto is best (more or less to taste)
2 tablespoons of miso (ore more to taste)
Mix natto and chile oil together first. Chile oil will make natto less sticky. Mix in garlic. Mix in miso last. Tastes good on hot rice. Serve with kim chee, takuan (pickled daikon radish), or other japanese pickles.
